I like the decision to choose a place completely free from the imprint of Google's mapping. It seems to free you of the the possible readings, whether intentional or not, that Google's mapping creates for you, the creator, and us, the viewer. I can't help but feel like the roads already existing in my own map have influenced my decisions to a heavy degree.
